ABOUT THE ORIGINAL: This piece took me about 6 months to complete. I worked on a few other pieces during that time period, but this was the focus. This piece is very tropical and tighly interwoven. I wanted to give the feeling of being in the jungle—luscious, vibrant, bursting with life. The title, Belle Aria, speaks to my love of singing and theater. The large hibiscus flower reminded me of the folds of a woman’s dress. I felt, in this piece, that the hibiscus was the belle of the ball, coming out on stage to sing her aria of color.
MATERIALS: Made in USA, Digital Reproduction (giclee) on archival quality canvas, printed with archival inks, and varnished. 1 ½” deep gallery-wrapped canvas with hanging wire, and ready to hang. Unframed by default.
